The NCFE CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services is perfect for those requiring a leadership or management qualification within any setting for children or young people.  The Advanced Practice pathway is great for those wishing to develop their career but remain active practitioners.

The NCFE CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services is perfect for those wishing to be a fully qualified advanced practitioner, leader or manager in early years settings through to settings for older children and young people.

 

Entry requirements 

You must be aged 19 or over with a full and relevant Level 3 qualification appropriate for the age range with which you are working.

You must also be working in a position enabling you to gain experience as a leader with the ability to create change, your role must allow you access to leadership decision making including meetings, partnerships, policy development and leading the professional development of others.

Course Duration:

You have up to 12 months to complete this course.  Don’t worry if you need longer though, we can organize an extension to your course for an additional fee, which also extends your tutor support.

 

Assessment:

All work is assessed through written tasks or assignments, reflecting on the work you’re doing with the children, professional discussions with your tutor, creating documents relevant to your leadership or advanced practice role.

You must be working in a paid role with expectations of responsibility to begin this qualification.

Learners must achieve all assessment criteria and demonstrate their competency in the setting. In order to gain this qualification, the learner will need to:

Course content:

This qualification has a set of shared core mandatory units, mandatory units specific to your chosen pathway and broad range of optional units to choose from, enabling you to tailor the qualification to your personal interests and career direction.

The six pathways cover a wide range of topics including:

  • Safeguarding and protection
  • Developing and implementing policy
  • Managing care services, change programmes and recruitment
  • Promoting and developing best practice
  • Supporting development and partnership working
  • Care management
  • Quality systems and improvement

 

Which type of job roles can you apply for on completion?

On completion learners can progress to a wide range of job roles depending on the pathway taken. The following list is not all-inclusive, but gives a taster of the opportunities available in either adult or children and young people’s settings:

• Nursery Manager/assistant manager
• nursery Supervisor/ coordinator
• class leader

You may wish to further your career by completing a degree in a related subject area. Many universities allow candidates to use the 90 credits earned in the completion of this qualification towards the required for a degree.
