
NCFE CACHE Level 4 Certificate for the Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges
This Level 4 qualification aims to provide professional development opportunities for practitioners working in the school and college workforce. This qualification will embrace the wealth of experience, proven knowledge and skills of the learner in a teaching and learning environment. It will challenge the learner in both daily practice and theoretical understanding.
Learners will acquire and use skills of leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection as they complete the qualification through work-based learning opportunities.
Entry requirements
Learners must be at least 18 years old and employed in a suitable role within a school or college. Previous Level 3 study is a clear advantage but wealth of experience, knowledge and understanding working in schools or colleges is a requirement for this qualification
Course Duration:
You have up to 8 months to complete this course. Don’t worry if you need longer though, we can organize an extension to your course for an additional fee, which also extends your tutor support.
Assessment:
The CACHE Level 4 Certificate for the Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges is a knowledge and skills based qualification. You therefore must have a job or voluntary placement in a school or college environment in order to complete this course. The course is assessed by both knowledge based written assignments, practical tasks (observations) and a final project.
To pass this course learners must pass written assignments, 1 project and 3 practical assignments.
Course content:
Unit 1 – Enabling individuals to learn
Unit 2 – Understanding how to support children and young people to improve their mental health and well being
Unit 3 – Working with others to support individuals with additional needs and disability in a school or college setting
Unit 4 – Working with families and other professionals in a school or college setting
Unit 5 – Implementing change in school or college setting
Which type of job roles can you apply for on completion?
Learners may progress within the workforce in the following job roles and responsibilities:
- Higher Level Practitioner/teacher/Teacher Assistant
- Internal progression at a higher level, including those with management responsibilities
