NCFE CACHE LEVEL 3 AWARD IN SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES

The Level 3 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities is designed to help learners equip themselves with the skills and knowledge to work with children and adults with learning disabilities. The course is suitable for beginners or individuals already employed that requires them to interact with people with disabilities. The course will primarily focus on promoting communication in health, supporting families who have children with disabilities and supporting adults with learning disabilities.

 

Entry requirements 

Learners for this course must be 19 years of age or above. English language and ICT skills are required

Course Duration:

You have up to 5 months to complete this course.  Don’t worry if you need longer though, we can organize an extension to your course for an additional fee, which also extends your tutor support.

Assessment:

This qualification will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.

Course content:

Unit 1- Understanding the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities

Unit 2- Understand positive risk taking for individuals with disabilities
Unit 3- Principles of supporting young people with a disability to make a transition into adulthood

Unit 4- Understand mental well-being and mental health promotion
