What is the Course About?
Dyslexia is a learning disorder that affects your ability to read, spell, write, and speak. Children who have it are often smart and hardworking, but they have trouble connecting the letters they see to the sounds those letters make.
They also often have normal vision and are just as smart as their peers. But they struggle more in school because it takes them longer to read. Trouble processing words can also make it hard to spell, write, and speak clearly.
The purpose of this course is to equip people who work with children who have dyslexia, or whom they suspect may be suffering from the condition, to understand it better and to be better able to assist such children.
There are not formal requirements, although the course is aimed at individuals who look after children on a daily basis. A good command of the English language is required.
