Course Description
The purpose of Child Protection and Safeguarding is to provide a secure framework for staff and volunteers in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of those pupils who attend the school. As a society we all have a duty to protect children from harm. The standard and acknowledged term for this is ‘safeguarding’. Every nation has its laws relating to safeguarding, which cascade down to a local level, and each childcare setting must have its own policies and procedures that they adhere to, that follow national and local guidelines. It is essential that every practitioner is aware of these policies and guidance and knows how to put them into practice.
